500 lbs of Warm Clothing Donated by Hozio
Hozio is kickstarting 2026 by organizing a drive to help neighbors in need stay warm this winter. Over the course of a few weeks, several members of the Hozio staff donated items of their own lightly used clothing to those who do not have shelter during the freezing season. These winter clothing items included jackets, hats, and gloves.
As of 2025, there were over 4,500 unhoused people on Long Island. This number is higher than in 2024, which was just over 4,000. Between Suffolk and Nassau County, Suffolk is home to more unsheltered people while Nassau has reported to have more individuals remain in emergency housing for longer periods of time.
Hozio is taking steps to help people across Suffolk and Nassau County get through the winter. With temperatures fluctuating throughout the season, Hozio’s staff is committed to helping neighbors combat the cold until spring arrives.
